This easy DIY wool felt ball diffuser freshens your car and lets you choose the mood of every drive.

Why Wool Felt?

Wool felt balls soak up essential oils and release the aroma slowly, with no electricity, heat, or water. They're reusable, so you can change scents whenever you like.

Ingredients

  • 7–8 wool felt balls
  • Thread and a large sewing needle
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Essential oils of choice

Instructions

  1. Thread a large sewing needle with enough thread for seven to eight felt balls. Pierce through the center of each ball until you have enough to make a complete circle.
  2. Knot the thread between the connecting balls to form a circle.
  3. Cut a piece of ribbon or twine long enough to fit over your rearview mirror. Thread it through the circle and tie it off at the top. Trim any excess.
  4. Hang your new DIY car diffuser in your car.
  5. Add a drop of essential oil to each ball whenever you want to uplift, energize, or calm the mood. Get creative and use a few different oils at once.

Tip: If you'd rather not hang it from your mirror, keep it in a cup holder or hang it from a hook in the back seat where passengers can enjoy it too.
